MTS MBlaze Broadband Internet Review!
MTS is fairly new as a mobile service provider, but its wireless broadband internet brand MTS Mblaze is already making heads turn with its wide variety of schemes. Available in two kinds of usb modems- Mblaze Standard and Mblaze Premium- this service is capable of bandwidth up to 3.1 Mbps, and an upload speed of 1.8 Mbps.
The packs available are suitable for people who need wireless internet for necessary travelling purposes. There are data usage plans starting from Rs.198/- (150 MB); prices go up with the allotted data usage. There is a Night Plan as well, which lets you surf and download for less charges between 10pm and 7am. Usage beyond the set limit costs Rs.2/MB. As an introductory offer new subscribers get free internet surfing of up to Rs.1500/- for free. The plug & play modem is easy to use; all one has to do is to plug it in and he can enjoy high-speed internet on the go.
But there are a number of things that are going against this service. Firstly, the data plans are not smartly packaged. Forget an unlimited plan; the cost of the limited data connections is sky-high. This has happened because the company has bundled amount of data usage with extreme efficiency, but they did not bundle the speed. Slower connections with cheap data usage would have opened up the brand to everyone, but now it is limited to people who do some basic surfing tasks and are thrilled to see them getting done faster. This is the major reason why MTS Mblaze makes a good compliment to your wired broadband, but not a good substitute.
Secondly, the company is fairly new and is yet to spread its network to the larger part of the country. Limited connectivity defeats the purpose of wireless internet.
But still the connection is pretty stable wherever it is available, and this plus point has drawn MTS Mblaze a handful following. One can only hope that this brand, full of potentials, will take diverse ways of growth in near future and rise as a pan-Indian internet service that is suitable for everyone, and a competitor to traditional fixed-line connections.
